Edmonton is one of the coldest major cities in the world. And yet, chronic homelessness persists at crises levels.

The Cold City Classic is an annual event organized by a couple of pals who just really like riding bikes and want to do something good.

Established in 2023, we’re looking to go bigger in 2024.

In September of 2022, 2,745 people were experiencing homelessness (Homeward Trust). Since then, that number has continued to increase. This puts many individuals at high risk during the winter months as there continues to be a significant shortage of affordable housing, accessible supports, and safe warming spaces.

There are many critical service providers in our city that do extremely important work to address these gaps, and we want to support them in achieving their mission of ending chronic homelessness.

That's why we're riding our bikes for 12 hours on one of the coldest days of the year, January 20th, to raise financial support for Boyle Street Community Services.
